And the winner is….

Jenna Plonka! Good thing there were no rules about being related to me or my family members with this giveaway.(see post) Jenna is my husband’s cousin. She is another extraordinary woman I am proud to know. So proud in fact that I feel the need to expound a bit…
When we pulled Jenna’s name out of the PBR baseball cap, I started thinking about the passion fruit filled cupcake my daughter and I shared at this delightful bakery, The Salty Tart. It looked something like this,
Like Jenna, this cupcakes exterior was lovely, so sweet, and white with innocence. But when you bite in and discover the tart, spunky passion fruit, you realize there is soooo much more to this treat than you could possibly discover with just one.(maybe I should have gotten Freya her own cupcake…). Jenna is a woman with many talents, she is a purposeful parent, dedicated to friends and family, and a talented artist.
This may be stretching it, but I thought I would include this recipe I found for passion fruit cupcakes. Or this one, a chocolate version! Perhaps you could test out the apron by making one of these with your equally delightful family!
Or you could just travel to Minneapolis to taste the original version…
The apron is on the way!
Don’t read this Abe!

I am holding off on my monthly project to sneak in a birthday gift for a friend. Abe is the son of my dear friend. He turns three this week and after learning that he is “all about rockets”, I thought I would try out the “Rocket to Dreamland” pattern in One Yard Wonders.
Just a bit more about dear Abe. He is the sweetest, most loveable, handsome little boy. Don’t believe me? Check this out. Abe’s mom happens to be an extremely talented photographer. She is responsible for the photo at the top of my blog and this one of my own almost 3-year-old…
you know we have already schemed their wedding…well at least prom.
OK, back to Abe’s birthday gift!
Now I am on the look out for a sweet astronaut or alien to slide in the pocket, then this cozy rocket will be ready for dear Abe!

Feeling domestic?

I chose to take the advise of some helpful readers and go with the apron. This pattern was taken from the wonderful book (and reason for this blog) “One Yard Wonders“. I added the pockets, which completely lack usefulness. Oh well.
I thought because there was so many helpful ideas for this months fabric, I should share the love and have a *GIVEAWAY*!!!
So here is the deal, leave a post with a few words about why you would enjoy this little ditty. Because I really want it to go to someone who will use it. I’ll be honest, with a two-year old running around, I have little use for an apron. It would just cover up the stains I already have on my clothes. But if you would use it, I would love you to have it! I will randomly draw a winner at the end of the month!
P.S. notice the cute button detail…
